About Oxford Community Energy Co-operative
A Brief History
The
Ontario’s Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) program has created an opportunity for co-operatives to participate in the development and distribution of renewable energy in partnership with a commercial developer.
The board of the Oxford Community Energy Co-op inaugurated with 7 directors on September 19th 2013.
Since then the co-op has attracted new members from Oxford County as well as other areas of Ontario and
will continue to build it’s local membership and investor base.
The cooperative is governed by its elected Board of Directors which consists of 9 directors, 3 advisors and has one dedicated full time staff.
OUR VISION
We are a renewable energy cooperative in which residents of Oxford County and all of Ontario are invited to become members to jointly create a more environmentally sustainable community without a need to compromise their investment objective for profit potential.
Oxford Community Energy Co-operative will serve the communities it operates in by keeping the ownership, the profits, and the business is conducts local.
